Carpenter Valley Guided Hike, June 2

Tahoe Donner’s Trails Department, the Friends of Tahoe Donner Trails club, and the Truckee Donner Land Trust invite you on an interpretive guided hike in the magnificent Lower Carpenter Valley.

Carpenter Valley Guided Hike

  • Date: Saturday, June 2
  • Time: 9:00 AM to Noon
  • Hike Details: About 5 miles on mostly flat dirt roads.
  • Registration: Eventbrite Registration Page

Just over the ridge from Tahoe Donner’s Crabtree Canyon, but long hidden from public view, Carpenter Valley offers grand scenery, lush meadows carpeted by wildflowers, and the chance to see wildlife in their natural environs.

This hike will feature commentary on the valley’s ecology and history, detail the ways in which Tahoe Donner is working with the Land Trust to provide access to the valley, and highlight the tremendous recreational opportunities the Tahoe Donner community will enjoy once Carpenter Valley is fully open to the public.

For now, however, the only way to visit this extraordinary place is through docent led hikes like this one exclusively for Tahoe Donner members and their guests.
