Truckee Donner Land Trust and the Friends of Tahoe Donner Trails club invite you on a guided hike in the magnificent Lower Carpenter Valley.
Carpenter Valley Guided Hike
- Date: Sunday, July 23
- Time: 9:00 AM to Noon
- Hike Details: About 5 miles on mostly flat dirt roads.
- Registration Required: Click here for the hike’s registration page.
Just over the ridge from Tahoe Donner’s Crabtree Canyon, but long hidden from public view, Carpenter Valley offers grand scenery, lush meadows carpeted by wildflowers, and the chance to see wildlife in their natural environs.
This hike will feature commentary by a Nature Conservancy ecologist (and Tahoe Donner member) who worked on the acquisition with the Land Trust. It will also highlight the tremendous recreational opportunities that the Tahoe Donner community will enjoy once Carpenter Valley is fully open to the public.
For now, however, the only way to visit this extraordinary place is through docent led hikes like this one exclusively for Tahoe Donner members and their guests.
