For the Truckee River Watershed Council’s 21st annual Truckee River Day on Sunday, October 16, hundreds will volunteer on nearly a dozen restoration projects across the region, including a Jeffrey pine sapling planting in Tahoe Donner hosted by our Forestry Department.
Sapling plantings are wonderful, even beautiful events. The work is fun, satisfying and easy. Get into a rhythm, and you might even find it meditative. For families with young children, there is simply no better volunteer event in Tahoe Donner.

The Watershed Council has been an extraordinary partner for our non-native, invasive weed work here in Tahoe Donner. This volunteer event is a great opportunity to repay their generosity by helping them to restore a native species to our forest.
These pine plantings are a great Tahoe Donner tradition, and we hope many of you will join in to lend a hand!
